About the Role
Part time or potential Full time, 16-40 hours per week, Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5pm with 30 minutes for lunch. On call for camera support every 4th weekend.

Job Description
You will be working as part of a small team on a cloud based data management and processing application. Your main focus will be back-end Java web development, and data processing and management middleware. You will also be involved in many aspects of the development, including technical design discussions, implementation, testing, and deployment. The system is highly scalable, utilising SOA and microservices design principles. The role involves remote collaborators, and good communications, and time management is essential.
You will also be required to help support existing client services and line of business applications.
Required Skills
- Strong design and development skills in Java
- Strong understanding of writing unit tests
- Strong written and spoken communications
- Experience working in a Linux environment (RHEL/Centos desirable)
- Understanding of REST web services
- Understanding of SOA, EMB and microservice architectures
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Spring, Hibernate, and Tomcat
- Experience with build systems, specifically Maven 3
- Experience with AngularJS and/or JQuery
- Experience in Javascript, HTML and CSS
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking including TCP flow control
- MySQL, SQL and database administration
- Experience with Python
- Experience with cloud such as AWS, etc
- Community participation, including GitHub, StackOverflow, Meetup, etc.
Job Responsibilities
The developer will be responsible for:
Implementing features, diagnosing issues and providing bug fixes for Envirocoms, Workflow, Digital Asset Management system, widgets, and Coastalcoms analytics applications
Providing technical input in discussions on the design and implementation on all components of the system
Deploying updates of components to staging and live environments
Monitoring overall system health
Providing operational support for the line of business systems including video streaming and video management system
